Nurses

Linda Newnham

Linda originally trained as a nursery nurse , a qualification which took her from the Special Care Baby Unit to the French Alps (working for a tour company). She then gained her nursing degree at Bournemouth University after which she broadened her knowledge on various units at Dorset County Hospital. In 2003 she left the surgical department to join us as a practice nurse here at Queens Avenue. Linda has the “Heartsave” diploma in coronary heart disease and is one of our diabetes nurses.

Sue Hinchley

Sue trained at the Middlesex Hospital, London and after completing her District Nurse training in Isleworth, she worked as a District Nurse for over 20 years in London, Bristol and North Somerset. She returned to Dorset in 2010 where she trained and worked as a Practice Nurse. She is experienced in wound care and leg ulcer management.

Pauline Newnham

Pauline NewnhamPauline Newnham (no relation to Linda) qualified as an Enrolled Nurse in 1981. After further training through Bournemouth Univerity she qualified as a registered General Nurse in 1996. Her background has been in Theatre Nursing and Pauline worked in the Weymouth & District Hospital for 10 years and also the Day Surgery Unit at Dorset County Hospital. Pauline then moved into Practice Nursing and has worked at different location in Weymouth for 16 years before joining Queens Avenue Surgery in September 2014.

Healthcare Assistants

Moira Brown

Our healthcare assistant Moira has been working in healthcare for over 30 years. After 15 years as a nursing auxiliary at Dorset County Hospital she joined the chemotherapy unit as a support worker and worked as a phlebotomist in the haematology department. She has been with us since 1999
